In 2005 at the age of 25 I travelled through Europe during the winter for 3 months basically living out of a snow jacket. The trip was exhilarating and freeing, I took many chances and regularly ended up in risky situations. Alongside the peaks of excitement were times intense loneliness, I felt a quiet distance in observing the culture and landscape of Europe, open and familiar at times, but often cold and excluding, I realised I was from a different kind of world at the other pole of the globe.

I have not been to Europe since that first trip. There is no going back to those early experiences, though I would one day, enjoy re-tracing my steps.
